JM Glendinning North West to walk Yorkshire Three Peaks in support of Pendleside Hospice
28 May 2021
A team from our North West office is limbering up to take part in the 24-mile Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge as part of Pendleside Hospice’s corporate MEGA Raiseathon.
Company MD and Hospice patron, Matthew Stuttard, along with colleagues David Edmondson and Josh Boothman, will embark on the 24.5-mile walk on Saturday 26th June, aiming to complete the challenge within the 12-hour limit. The hike involves a 2,153m climb in total, covering Peny-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough all set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
JM Glendinning’s activity is part of Pendleside Hospice’s corporate MEGA Raiseathon challenge which invites businesses to fundraise for the Hospice between 1st and 30th June 2021. The money raised will be help people who need the Hospice’s help and support following the devastating diagnosis of a life-limiting illness.
Says Matthew Stuttard, MD of JM Glendinning North West and patron of Pendleside Hospice, says: “We’re doing several treks around local scenes including Pendle Hill in the run-up to the challenge at the end of this month. David Edmondson has previously completed the national three peaks challenge in under 24 hours to raise funds for Pendleside Hospice so he’s the most experienced walker in the group. I’m also a keen walker and Josh is a runner, so we are hoping that, with this additional training, we’ll complete the walk in good time and raise much-needed funds for this very worthy charity.”
Says Christina Cope, head of corporate fundraising at Pendleside Hospice: “The corporate MEGA Raiseathon is a simple concept which we hope will bring added benefits to the businesses taking part, such as team building and encouraging interdepartmental working, as well as helping to raise vital funds for the Hospice. Our fundraising activities have been hard hit during the pandemic and so we hope to make this MEGA Raiseathon one to remember, and we encourage as many businesses to take part as possible.”
The JM Glendinning team aims to raise £2,000 for the Hospice, which they will raise via https://www.justgiving.com/team/JMGInsurance
