Experienced Yorkshire insurance professional joins JM Glendinning

JM Glendinning, the Leeds-based insurance broking, financial and health and safety services group, welcomes Wendy Cornwell-Vernon to its team as private client account executive, to support growth and add further depth of experience to its team.

Bringing over 25 years’ experience of working in the insurance industry to the role, Wendy moves into the insurance broking market having previously held positions within insurer firms. Wendy began her career working for General Accident in a temporary role and has since held positions as a broker development manager at RSA and more recently as a development underwriter at Hiscox in York.

Wendy joins JM Glendinning’s private clients team which specialises in arranging insurance for families and individuals by tailoring solutions to the client’s needs. Wendy’s clients each have varying insurance requirements and a wide range of assets including property, cars, artwork and more. It is Wendy’s role to assess clients’ requirements and make sure that everything is covered at the right level.

Says Wendy: “I was drawn to work at JM Glendinning because of the people there. I had worked with the team in my role at Hiscox and knew how they operated. I was ready for a change in direction and was keen to work directly with clients, which my new role allows me to do. I have a broad base of knowledge to draw upon and I am passionate about building relationships with our clients, putting everything in place to give them the cover they need to ensure peace of mind.”

Originally from West Yorkshire, Wendy has lived in both Scotland and Brighton before settling in Harrogate for the past ten years. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga as well as weekend breaks with her husband in their VW camper van. Wendy has achieved a Certificate in Insurance Practise and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration Management.
