JM Glendinning Insurance Brokers has appointed Claire Ellis as group operations and HR director to help drive performance and inform the strategic direction of the business.
Claire Ellis joins the firm’s board of directors, bringing over 30 years of insurance industry experience to the role. Claire is responsible for the firm’s regulatory and legal compliance; for reviewing operational efficiencies; and for continuing to improve standards within the business. Claire will also take the lead on the company’s IT function review.
Claire started her career as a trainee commercial underwriter for AGF Insurance, in 1993. Since then she has enjoyed a progressive career path with roles at Royal & Sun Alliance, Allianz, UK General, Bartlett Group, joining JM Glendinning from a senior role at insurance firm Aviva. Having worked for both insurers and brokers in the past, Claire has a well-rounded understanding of the market which enables her to give sound strategic input into the direction of the business.
On her role at JM Glendinning, Claire says: “JM Glendinning is a great place to work, I love the culture and I am excited about the positive influence I can make here. I’m currently in the exploration phase of my role, spending time with people in our eight offices and with underwriters and identifying where I can provide support on an operational level to help the group perform to its best abilities. It’s going to be an exciting journey ahead.”
