From apprentice to permanent employee

Just over a year ago JM Glendinning (Insurance Brokers) North Yorkshire Ltd appointed our second apprentice, to support growth and bring new and complementary skills to the team. Clark Lofthouse has impressed us so much that he has now been appointed on a permanent basis as personal lines advisor.

Clark’s hard work and dedication to his apprenticeship has also recently been recognised by YH Training Services, which has awarded him the title of ‘Apprentice of the Month’, for which he received a presentation certificate and gifts for his outstanding commitment.

We have seen Clark, who is now 20 years old, grow in confidence over the first year of his apprenticeship as well as growing his skills set. As part of his apprenticeship, Clark is working towards NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, which he is on track to easily achieve. Bringing exceptional interpersonal and IT skills to the team, Clark is invaluable to the business.

Prior to starting his apprenticeship with us, Clark had just completed a year’s apprenticeship with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau. Now, as a full time personal lines advisor, Clark has a customer facing role, taking incoming enquiries, providing insurance quotes, working on new business, renewals and updating letter suites.
